Today, you’ll meet Sebastian Lozano, a father of three daughters whose life was transformed the day he learned he was going to become a girl dad.
Sebastian openly shares how fatherhood humbled him, challenged him to become a better man and ultimately changed the way he viewed women, relationships and his purpose in life.
In our conversation, you’ll discover several practical lessons every dad can apply.
First, Sebastian explains why fathers should spend less time giving answers and more time asking thoughtful questions that help daughters learn to think for themselves.
Second, he shares how intentionally giving daughters responsibility builds confidence, leadership and independence while Dad still serves as a safety net.
Finally, he explains why simply being present often matters more than providing, and how putting aside distractions creates the memories daughters remember for a lifetime.
If you’ve ever wondered how to become the father your daughter needs instead of simply the father you think you should be, I think you’ll enjoy this conversation.
I enjoyed speaking with Sebastian, and one of the things I appreciated most about our conversation was his willingness to admit he didn’t have fatherhood figured out from the beginning.
Instead of pretending to be perfect, Sebastian showed that dads can grow, mature and become better fathers one intentional decision at a time.
He offered some excellent advice, such as make time for your daughters even when life is busy and do your best to listen before you lecture.
Be sure to give them opportunities to make decisions, solve problems and build confidence while you’re still there to guide them.
But, affirm them often along the way so they know their value isn’t based on appearance or performance.
Most importantly, think about fatherhood from your daughter’s perspective. Ask yourself what she sees, hears and experiences when she’s with you, then become the dad she deserves.
If you’d like to connect with Sebastian, you can find him on TikTok under the handle Christian Content Creator. He welcomes conversations with fellow fathers and enjoys encouraging dads who want to strengthen their relationships with their daughters.
Thanks again for joining me. Until next time, remember that daughters don’t need perfect dads. They simply need fathers who love them enough to keep showing up.
If you found value in this episode of the DODO Dads podcast, please share it with another father who could use the encouragement. Thank you for listening. To see our other resources for girl dads, visit www.dododads.com.
